David J. McAvoy
Of Arlington Heights

David J. McAvoy was born July 31, 1937 in Chicago to John and Maryon (nee Wajten) McAvoy. He died Friday, July 1, 2005 at his home in Arlington Heights.

Mr. McAvoy was employed in the automobile business for 45 years, most recently he worked in leasing at Roto Lincoln Mercury for 20 years before retiring in 2004. He has been an active member of St. Edna Catholic Church for the last 40 years

David is survived by his wife of 45 years Judith E. nee Whalen, whom he married September 19, 1959; his children Pamela McAvoy of Los Angeles, Suzanne McAvoy of Los Angeles, Joseph (Debbie) McAvoy of Algonquin, Patricia (Paul) Clayton of Carpentersville and Melissa (Steve) Krom of Island Lake; his grandchildren Casey, Carly, Tailor, Fiona and Chloe; his brother Tom McAvoy and his brothers-in-law Keith McClure and Jim Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Bonnie McClure and Elizabeth Anderson.

Visitation Wednesday, from 3:00 until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Thursday at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Edna Church.
