Donald J. Rohrer
Of Arlington Heights

Donald J. Rohrer was born on March 21, 1927 in Chicago to Aloysius and Gertrude (nee Schmitz) Rohrer. He passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

Growing up in Rogers Park, he served in the Navy during WWII. He worked all of his life in the auto industry. In his later years, he enjoyed playing and watching golf.

Donald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan (nee Yourek); his children, Thomas (Brenda Straub) Rohrer, Carolyn A. Rohrer and Janice (the late Mark) Kapinos; his grandchildren, John (Linlee) Rohrer, Andrew F. Rohrer, Mathias J. Kapinos and Tatiana L. Kapinos; his sisters, Mary (Edward "Bob") Riley and Rita (Chester) McCaw; and his brother-in-law, Jack (Pamela) Yourek; .

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Evan T. "Everlovin" Rohrer.

Visitation from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am, Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
