Ruth lrene Gardner
of Arlington Heights

Ruth lrene Gardner was born at her family's home on Hirsch Street in Chicago on August 2, 1914. She lived all of her life in Chicago and in neighboring Arlington Heights where she died on May 23, 2013.

Ruth was a good student and, when she graduated from Carl Schurz High School, was offered a scholarship to attend college. However, in those depression years the family needed the inc6me she brought first from teaching violin and then working at the headquarters of Montgomery Ward.

In 1937 Ruth was married to her co-worker at Ward's and high school sweetheart, Victor Howard Beisler. In 1940, shortly after the birth of their daughter Norma, Ruth and Victor moved to Arlington Heights, where they lived the rest of their lives, raising Norma, son Stephen and daughter Ardes.

When Victor started the Beisler lnsurance Agency, in Arlington Heights, Ruth worked with Victor to make the business a success. Ruth had a busy life, raising her three children, working in the business, and taking an active part in the community, singingin the choir of her church, the First Presbyterian Church, and as a charter member of Chapter HN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Throughout her life, Ruth's smile could light up the darkest places and her warmth brought people closer to her in friendship, and, in so doing, brought them cłoser to one another as well. Her spirit is alive in the friendships she has fostered.

Besides her three children, Norma Bramsen (John), Stephen Beisler (Jean), and Ardes Poisson (Timothy), Ruth enjoyed five grandchildren, Brooke Hainey (Michael), Robert Beisler, Matthew Beisler, and Kristin Beisler, and Timothy Poisson.

Memorial service 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton, Arlington Heights.
