Richard A. Koopman

Richard A. Koopman was born on October 13, 1939 in Chicago to Arnold and June (nee Foley) Koopman. He passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 in Arlington Heights after a valiant fight with cancer.

He was a magnetic, charismatic, fun loving, generous man who was a great friend to many and loved by all. Throughout his battle with cancer he was courageous, strong, a fighter, humbled, tender, sweet and gracious. He was cherished and loved beyond words and will be forever missed. He left a treasured legacy – the presence of love, faith, family and great friends.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Judith (nee Mangold); his children, Richard (Diane) Koopman II, Amy (Michael) Enxing, Suzanne (Rick) Sullivan and Melissa (Tom) Dabrowski; his grandchildren, Drew and Dan Koopman, Max and Lexi Enxing, Bracken, Camden and Molly Sullivan, Tiffany, Jason and Nolan Dabrowski; his great-grandson, Dalton Richard Koopman; his brothers, Bill (Chris) Koopman, Bob (Judi) Koopman and Scott (Tammy) Koopman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation from 3:00 pm until the time of memorial service at 5:00 pm Friday, June 14, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
