Shirley I. Grawin was born in Chicago to Clarence and Elsie (nee Janz) Singleton. She died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Shirley worked as an Executive Secretary for Martin-Marietta in Schaumburg, for over 2 decades. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and was loved by all.

Shirley is survived by her spouse William, whom she married in Chicago; children, Terry (Carla) Grawin, Cindy (Roland) Loison; grandchildren, Jennifer Grawin, Kristen Grawin, Annaik Loison-Hiessler, and Alex Loison.

Visitation Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 2:00 pm until the time of the 4:00 pm Memorial Service at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, Illinois. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association, 30 North Michigan Ave., Ste. #2015, Chicago, IL 60602 or World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth St. N.W., P.O Box 97180, Washington, D.C. 20090-7180.
