Shawn Paul Stephens was born July 20, 1961 in Evanston to James and Catherine (nee Collinet) Stephens. He passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Beloved by friends and family, we are sorely grieved by the loss.

Shawn was a loving brother and son, and dear friend. He touched many lives in his short time here. He took great pride in his work and was good with his hands.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Stephens; his siblings, Patricia Stephens of Chicago, Michael (Emily) Stephens of Prospect Heights, Thomas Stephens of Prospect Heights, Maureen (Colin) Meyers of Kansas City, Missouri, Joseph (Kimberly) Stephens of Port Barrington, and Sandra (Ed) Kruse of Pahrump, Nevada; his nieces and nephews, Joey, Vanessa, Stephen, Mikayla, Savannah, Alex, Austin, Kevin, and Allissa; and his longtime companion, Kathy Chiros.

Shawn is preceded in death by his father, James Stephens; his sister, Margaret Levy; and his brother James S. Stephens.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights where Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2011. Interment is at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago.
