Dolores Venema
Of Arlington Heights

Dolores Venema, a 36 year resident of Arlington Heights, was born October 24, 1933 in Chicago. She died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at her home with her family at her side.

Mrs. Venema was a water aerobics instructor, privately and with the Arlington Heights Park District. She was a woman of adventure, always on the go and a Sun Worshiper. Dolores was an avid card and game player, enjoyed movies and travel. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Dolores is survived by her children, James C. Schweizer, John C. (Susan) Schweizer, Jill E. (Hon. James) Lubing, Janet (Robert) Rathmann, Jeffrey C. (Diane) Schweizer, and Joan “Lilly” (William) Berlett; her grandchildren Kyle, Laura, Sam, Kate, Kimberly (Andy), Kristina (Percy), Kolleene, Paul, Haley and Ashley; her great grandchildren Emma and Percy; and her brother Harry (Judy) Siwkowski.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Schweizer and Paul Venema; her son Joseph C. Schweizer; and her grandson Robert “Bo” Rathmann.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:45 AM, Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Rd., Inverness for Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
