John Justin Sherwood
Of Arlington Heights
John Justin Sherwood was born April 17, 1917 in Momence, IL to Cecil and
Kathryn (nee Halpin) Sherwood. He died June 24, 2009 at Church Creek
Nursing Home in Arlington Heights.
John is survived by his children Chris (Robin) Sherwood, Scott (Akemi)
Sherwood and Patricia (Edward A.) Trio; his grandchildren Eric, Craig,
Edward J., Michael, Amelia, Selena; and his siblings Ted (late Jean)
Sherwood, Don (Mary) Sherwood, Dorothy (late Bill) Maloney and by many
nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his wife Alice (nee Splitt), his grandson Brian Sherwood, his siblings
Constance (late Morton) Lang and Joseph (Mary) Sherwood and by his
parents.
Visitation Friday June 26, 2009 from 3 until 9 PM, at the Glueckert
Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of
Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM, Saturday, at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington
Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11 AM. Burial at St. Michael
the Archangel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
