Franke was born June
12, 1918 in Chicago
to Joseph E. and
Edla A. (nee Wid)
Carlson. She passed
away on June 15,
2009 at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in
Savannah, Georgia.
Irene is survived by
her children Chris
(Lyle) Malzahn of
Marion, NC and Karen
(James) Dill of
Hilton Head, SC; her
grandchildren
Jennifer (Tucker)
Wiggins and Scott
(Kristen) Malzahn;
her great
granddaughter Ella
Caroline Malzahn;
and many nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Franke is
preceded in death by
her husband
Frederick George
Franke; her son,
Gerald Franke; and
her brothers, Bror
and Herbert Carlson.
Visitation Monday,
June 22, 2009 from
10:00 AM until the
time of service at
11:00 AM at Faith
Lutheran Church, 431
S. Arlington Heights
Rd., Arlington
Heights. Burial will
be in Mt. Olive
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,
