passed away
peacefully on June
9, 2009 after a
lengthy battle with
cancer. He was born
June 22, 1926 in
Chicago Ill. and was
a resident of
Arlington Heights
for 54 years and
Inverness for 29
years.
After graduating
from Arlington High
School Richard
served in the Army
Air Corps during
WWII. Richard and
his wife Mertis were
the owners of “Anser
Phone” and “Suburban
Medical Exchange”
which they ran for
over 30 years in
Arlington Heights
before retiring.
He was the beloved
husband of 61 years
to Mertis (nee
Hawkins); dear
father of Richard F
III (Cindy), James
(Sue) and Lisa
Slezak; proud
grandfather of
Lindsey (Brad)
Margolis, Jim,
Betsy, Thomas James,
and Katie Glueckert,
Christian and Kayley
Slezak; brother of
Mary Ellen Borton
and John W.
(Rosanna) Glueckert,
and brother-in-law
of Des (Ted) Hull.
Richard is preceded
in death by his
parents Fred and
Mary (nee Neville)
Glueckert, his
sister Rosemary
Kinnard and his
brother-in-law
Wilbur Borton.
