Of Arlington Heights
Patricia Claire Murphy-Finnerty was born October 19, 1967 in Brea, CA to Peter James and Barbara J. (nee McGetrick) Murphy. She died June 2, 2009 in Arlington Heights.
Patricia was a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods College and received a Masters in Education from Concordia College. She was the College Counselor at Libertyville High School for the last year and formerly at Niles North High School for over 20 years. Trisha Finnerty was a high school counselor who always went above and beyond to nurture and direct her students. During her career, Trisha developed the program “Choices.” Choices was a unique program that provided special needs juniors and seniors and their parents all of the information and documentation they required to set them on the right path to ensure their future success in their college choice after graduation.
An active member of the Arlington Heights community; she was instrumental in sharing her families love of art through fund raising activities in the downtown area.
Patricia is survived by her children Bridgit Murphy Finnerty and Pierce McGetrick Finnerty; her sisters Jennifer (Jerry Cazares) Murphy-Cazares and Kathleen Ritter and by her father.
Patricia joins her husband Kevin, her son Garrett and by her mother in death.
Visitation from 12 PM until 8 PM, Monday June 8, 2009, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Funeral Mass 9:30 AM, Tuesday June 9, 2009 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights. Private family interment to follow Funeral Mass.
