Josephine T. “Jo” Deikus
Of Barrington

Josephine T. “Jo” Deikus, resident of the Garlands for the last two years, formerly of Arlington Heights, Mt. Prospect and Chicago, was born September 25, 1928 in Chicago to Patrick and Agnes (nee Moore) McDonnell. She died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

Mrs. Deikus was a homemaker and former co-owner of a pub and eatery in Chicago. She was active in the Rolling Meadows Senior Center where she enjoyed playing Canasta and is a former member of Our Lady of the Wayside Church.

Her survivors include her daughters Karen (Dean) Wahls of Chenoa and Gail (Dale) Horn of Hawthorn Woods; her grandchildren Jackie and Michael (Robin) Wahls and Ryan and Kristin Horn.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Deikus, her parents, her sister Fran Crowley and her brother James McDonnell.

Memorial Mass 11:00 AM, Monday, June 23, 2008 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights.
