Diane Harkin was born on August 8, 1933 in Chicago to Raymond and Ermine A. (nee Brizzolara) Downey. She passed away on June 6, 2007 on Arlington Heights.

Diane enjoyed her many dogs, ceramics, art, painting and designing jewelry.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daniel B. Harkin, her children, Daniel R. (Marybeth) Harkin of Algonquin, Kevin B. (Cathy) Harkin of Round Lake and Diane M. (Steve) Columbia of Arlington Heights, her grandchildren, Carolyn (Michael) Brinton, Daniel J. Harkin, Jason A. Harkin, Kevin A. Harkin, Matthew E. Harkin, Ashley M. Columbia, Paul D. Columbia and Patrick J. Columbia, her brother, Raymond Downey and her sister, Sharon Wovoris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dale P. Harkin and her brother, Fred Downey.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:45 AM Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment private.
