Francis P. Bernard, formerly of Buffalo Grove was born June 4, 1916 in Cornell, Wisconsin to George Julius and Mary Louise (nee Trembley) Bernard. He died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Before retiring Mr. Bernard was the senior plant engineer for Curtiss Candy for 45 years. He is a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Frank is survived by his daughters Patricia Ellen (George) Harte of Downers Grove, Laura Louise (David) Stailey of Arlington Heights, Margaret Mary (Jim) Brewer of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Elizabeth Ann (Wayne) Barthel of Portage, Michigan, formerly of Streamwood; his 9 grandchildren Michael (Melissa) Stailey, Mark (Sally) Stailey, Megan (David ) Word, Laura (Thomas) Severt, Jennifer (Brian) Johnson, Jim Brewer, Kathleen (Alan) Kass, Dawn (Darrin) Kwasniewski and Heather (Mark) Pownell; 17 great grandchildren; his sisters-in-law Margaret McLeod and Mary Ellen (Dr. Stuart) Levine and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Blanche and his 13 siblings.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Saturday, June 24, 2006 at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Edna Catholic Church Ministry of Care.
