Ida Mae Jones
Of Mt. Prospect for 30 years

Ida Mae Jones was born June 1, 1915 in Wynnewood, OK to C.W. and Maud (nee McGarity) Strother. She died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Ida Mae's heart remained in her birthplace, Wynnewood, but she and her husband lived in Texas, Pittsburgh, PA, St. Mary's, West Virginia, and Chicago. She was a former volunteer at ManorCare of Arlington Heights where she was previously awarded Volunteer of the Year. Ida Mae enjoyed her monthly book club meetings and was a lifelong Cubs fan. Family and friends will remember her as a people person, able to make everyone feel warm and welcome.

Survivors include her son, Lewis Jones of Mt. Prospect; sister in law, Doris Strother; niece Patricia.

Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B.; her parents; her brother Charles Strother and her nephew Charles.

Prayer service 4:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Visitation Saturday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
