William P. Walsh
Of Arlington Heights

 

William P. Walsh (Bill) was born August 24, 1915 in Cicero to James Patrick and Mary Catherine (nee Keneally) Walsh. He died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at the Alexian Brothers Hospice in Elk Grove Village.

Mr. Walsh was an Army Veteran of World War II. He worked as an executive at Kraft Foods for more than 20 years. He was the Director of The Research Facility in Glenview . Bill was the recipient of the J.L. Kraft Award for Excellence. He was the founder and first president of the Kraft Toastmaster's Club. Bill also was Vice President of Loyola University of Chicago. He received an honorary Ph.D and the President's Award of Excellence from Loyola. Bill founded and managed Industrial Relations Consultants, Inc. while working at Loyola. He continued this work after his retirement.

Survivors include his children, Kathleen (Thomas) Eiben of Inverness, William Walsh, Jr. of Lake Zurich, Maureen (Timothy) McGough of Fairfax, VA, Michael (Victoria ) Walsh of Scottsdale, AZ, Colleen (Michael) Fong of Norcross, GA, and Sheila (William) Sanford of Houston, TX; grandchildren Kelly (Matthew) Keenan, Timothy Eiben, Erin McGough, Patrick McGough, Rileigh Walsh, Madeleine Fong, Kevin Fong, Keri Sanford, Colette Sanford; great grandchildren Maxwell Keenan and Jack Keenan.

Bill was preceded by his wife of 60 years, Mary Walsh, his parents, a sister, Catherine Walsh, and a brother James Walsh.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the St. John's Chapel of the Lutheran Home and Services, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the St. Michael
the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
