Charles P. Currie, Sr.
Of Arlington Heights
Charles P. Currie, Sr. age 80 formerly of Park Ridge and Glenview was
born August 6, 1924 in Chicago to Frank M. and Marie A. (nee Gundtofte)
Currie. He died at Wednesday at Northwest Community Healthcare Center.
Charles was President of North Star Lighting, Inc. and a member of the
Electric Association of Chicago Hall of Fame. He was a veteran of WWII
serving with the Army Air Corp. as a pilot of the B-17.
Survivors include his children: Charles P. Jr. (Donna) Currie of
Prospect Heights, Patricia C. (William) Sweeney of Palatine and Barbara
C. (Patrick) Bridges of Arlington Heights. Grandchildren: Abigail and C.
Matthew Currie; Kelly, Melissa and Traci Bridges; and Colleen Sweeney.
Nephews: D. Ronald and Richard Inlow and loved by many friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Dolores R. nee Cervenka and
sister and brother in law Joanne and Gail Inlow.
Prayers will be held 8:45 AM, Saturday, at the Glueckert Funeral
Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine
Rd.) Arlington Heights to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S.
Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Mass at 9:30 AM. Visitation Friday from
3 PM until 9 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be at
All Saints Cemetery.
