Elaine M. Haag

Elaine M. Haag was born on May 27, 1935 in Chicago to Ralph and Anelia (nee Madej) Zering. She passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 in Barrington.

Elaine was a retired employee of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad after 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, her NFL football pool, and all Chicago sports. She loved to discuss politics and current events. She was the shining star of her family and she will be missed greatly.

Elaine is survived by her children, Leslie (James) Popernik, Patricia (James) Snider, Jacqueline (Jeffrey) Morozink, Christine (Brad) Smith, Elaine Ellis, Daniel (Nancy) Haag, Ronald Fagan and James (Randy) Fagan; her grandchildren, Elise (Paul) Arnow, Jillian (Joshua) Berg, Alan, Victoria and Kevin Snider, Madeleine and Steven Flugardt, Rachael, Nicholas, Justin and Matthew Ellis, Benjamin Haag and Maria Smith; her sister, Ethel Schermerhorn; her brother, George (Anita) Zering; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Lawrence W. Haag; her brothers, Ralph Zering and Edward Piekarski; her sisters, Elsie Trzinski and Elise French.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Prayers 9:30 AM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Route 22 & Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, for Mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment Lake Zurich Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to JourneyCare Foundation, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
