William J. Gasser

William J. Gasser, 86, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013, in Phoenix, AZ He was born in Chicago, IL and is predeceased by his wife, Jeannine and son Billy.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his two daughters, Lynne Mohr (Ken) and Laurel Gasser; as well as stepchildren, Michael Monaco (Alison), Donna Hamaker (Steve) and Laura Monaco Torelli (Jim). He also leaves two grandchildren, Daniel Mohr (Krissy) and Jennifer Pankratz (Bryce) and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ryan Mohr. He has four step-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily and Allison Hamaker and Kevin Monaco.

In 1966 Bill started Brite-O-Matic Manufacturing, his car wash machine business in Arlington Heights, IL. He served with honor in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served as a member of the Illinois Manufacturer's Assn; United States Business and Industrial Council and the Executive Club of Chicago. He founded the William J. Gasser Family Foundation to benefit needy children and their abused mothers requiring assistance. He is a member of Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights, IL and Pinnacle Peak Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ His favorite hobbies were reading, golf and debating politics with anyone who would listen. He was a devoted, loving husband and family man.

Visitation will be at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Edna's Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Interment Will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine. A memorial service will be held at Sagewood Retirement Community in Phoenix, AZ at a future date.
