John A. Kostovich
Of Arlington Heights, formerly of Chicago
John A. Kostovich was born on November 5, 1918
in Croatia, to Joseph and Mary (nee Jerkovic)
Kostovich. He died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at home
surrounded by his family.
John served in the United States Army during
WWII, 29th Infantry Division, 111th Field
Artillery BN; survived the D-Day Invasion at
Omaha Beach. He worked as a machinist,
supervisor, foreman for Clearing Machine
Corporation in Chicago, for 33 years, and
International Harvester/Navistar in Hinsdale for
11 years. John was an avid builder/engineer and
enjoyed home and garden projects. He was devoted
to family, was a good friend, helpful neighbor
and loved by all.
John is survived by his spouse of 67 years,
Nada; Children, Nada Jayne (Dave) Misunas, John
J. Kostovich, Kathy Roepke, Donna (Ian) Cohen,
Mary (Mike) Riley, and Joy (Mike) Matella; 18
grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; many
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Joseph
Kostovich; his parents; sisters, Matilda Marich,
Katherine Cibulka, and Mildred Vladova.
Memorial Service 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 26, 2013
at Willow Creek Community Church - Chapel
Building B, 67 East Algonquin Road, South
Barrington, IL 60010. Interment is private.
