John Patrick Carney
Of Prospect Heights

John Patrick Carney was born on June 21, 1936. He passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 and will be missed by many.

Mr. Carney had a long career as a Sales Engineer with Enterprise/Valspar Paint. Whether on business or pleasure, he enjoyed traveling. His favorite destination was County Kerry and County Mayo, Ireland, the birthplace of his parents. He was "Uncle Johnny" to 16 nieces and nephews, who he treated to their first plane ride. Each year he enjoyed fishing trips to St. Germain, WI. For 20 years, John hosted the "Carney Golf Open" and the 4th of July family celebration.

John is survived by his brother, Eugene Carney; his sisters, Eileen (Carl) King, Dorothy Johnson, Betty (Lou) Rymarcsuk and Mary (Bob) Hammerl; his brother-in-law, Vito Lesiowski; and his sister-in-law, Gloria Carney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Kathleen (nee Brosnan) Carney; his sister, Kathleen "Kitty" Lesiowski; and his brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Carney.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Rd., Prospect Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Alphonsus Church.
