Of Arlington Heights
James Edward Schiferl was born December 11, 1938 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Carl and Genevieve (nee Hawthorn) Schiferl. He died on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Schiferl was a retired employee of 25 years with the Water and Streets/Sanitation departments with the Village of Arlington Heights.
He is survived by his wife, Ireta (nee Mongelluzzo) Schiferl; his children, James Schiferl, Donna (Larry) LaPlante, Daniel (Joy) Schiferl, and Robert Schiferl; his six grandchildren; his siblings, Ruth Ruff, Kate Petrick, Pat Hornig, Thomas Schiferl, Jean Scherdell, Charles, and Gerald Schiferl, Carol Deike, and Mary Lou Deike; and his many nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Schiferl; and his parents.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights where Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2011. Interment is private.
