Ralph H. Slater
50 year resident of Buffalo Grove

Ralph Henry Slater was born July 29, 1930 in Chicago to Howard and Harriet (nee Frey) Slater. He died May 7, 2011 at Alden Estates of Barrington.

Ralph served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Harza Engineering in Chicago as a draftsman for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove. Ralph enjoyed bowling and playing golf, he particularly enjoyed coaching youth bowling and baseball.

Ralph is survived by his children Cathleen (James Jr.) Condit, Sharon (Steven) Foulk, Thomas Slater and Stephen (Jacqueline) Slater; grandchildren Robert Jennifer, Erik, Daniel and Nicole; great grandson Gavin and by his sister Joan (Bernie) Hennings.

Ralph is preceded in death by his wife Joan (nee Dombrowski); brother James Slater and by his parents.

Visitation from 3 PM until 9 PM, Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Saturday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. Mary Catholic Parish 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10 AM. Interment St. Mary Parish Cemetery.
