Sara was born on March 14, 1935 to Johannes and Sara (nee Mulder) Engelsma in Amsterdam. She passed away on May 5, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Linda) Hodge of Arlington Heights and Sandy (Gary) Gawlik of Normal; her grandchildren, Kelly M. (Mark) Hasty, Michael B., Matthew R. (Meredith) Hodge, Hunter C., Brooke C. and Tanner C. Gawlik ; her great grandchildren, Hailey and Alyssa; her sister-in-law, Corrie Engelsma; her best friend and niece, Annette Fry; and also survived by Kate (Scott) Smith and Shane Smith.
Sara is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hodge, and her daughter Evelyn Faith.
Visitation Monday, May 9, 2011 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment Memory Gardens.
