William E. Bolash
Of Arlington Heights

William E. Bolash, a 54 year resident of Arlington Heights, was born December 10, 1919 in Struthers, Ohio to John and Mary (nee Klucher) Bolash. He died on May 7, 2011, peacefully at the home he built in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Bolash served in the Army from 1942 until 1945. He started Milrose Construction with his brother-in-law, Ben Trapani, then formed William E. Bolash Construction until he went to work for the Village of Arlington Heights as a Building Inspector. William was a member and past Grand Knight (1956) of the Knights of Columbus at St. Cornelius Parish in Chicago and convention delegate of the National Slovak Society. As a long time parishioner of St. James Catholic Church, Mr. Bolash participated in many of the church ministries, including being a past PPC member and a long time tenor in his beloved church choir. He was an avid Chicago sports fan and world traveler.

He is survived by his children, Richard W. (Linda) Bolash of Burnsville, MN, Robert C. (Camille) Bolash, John M. (Debbie) Bolash, Diane R. Bolash and Jean L. Bolash all of Arlington Heights; his grandchildren, John W. Bolash of Burnsville, MN, Jerome P. (Bonnie) Bolash of Crystal, MN, James J. (Liz) Bolash of Rolling Meadows, Theresa A. Bolash of Crown Point, IN, Susan (Ken) L. Kowols of Arlington Heights, Melissa Lowman of York, PA, Jessie A. Bolash and Emily Rose Bolash both of Arlington Heights; his great grandchildren, Julian A. Bolash, Aleczander X. Bolash, Isabella M. Bolash, Julia G. Bolash, Jamie M. Bolash, Daniel W. Bolash, Alyssa R. Kowols and Samantha P. Kowols; his sister Olga (Allen) Lacey of Georgia and sister-in-law, Amelia J. “Millie” Trapani of Mt. Prospect.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Rose T. (nee Jakopovich) Bolash; his siblings, Mary (Herb) Burns, Steve (Ruth) Bolash, Jack “Yank” (Doris) Bolash, Aldrich “Oats” (Catherine) Bolash, Vern (Emil) Jessey, Cyril “Cy” Bolash and Jean (Bill) Evans; and his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2011at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Wheeling Township Food Pantry, 1616 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
