Of Arlington Heights
Peter Joseph Nowak, Jr. was born September 20, 1944 in Chicago to Peter Joseph Sr. and Stella (nee Kowalczyk) Nowak. He passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights with his family at his side.
Peter was Chief Financial Officer for First Card Visa and retired in 2000, and served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was an accomplished pianist and always enjoyed a good party.
Peter is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shardelle “Sherry” (nee D’Aquila) Nowak, whom he married February 14, 1970; his children, Tamara Nowak and Tiffany (William) Skelnik; his grandson, Trent Skelnik; and his brother William (Lori) Nowak.
He is preceded in death by his parents Stella and Peter J. Nowak, Sr..
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
