Carl S. Stefanik, a
lifelong resident of
Arlington Heights,
was born September
12, 1918 in
Manitowoc, Wisconsin
to Joseph and
Justina (nee Majerck)
Stefanik. He died
Wednesday, May 27,
2009 at Northwest
Community Hospital.
Mr. Stefanik was a
union carpenter and
an official with
Local 839. He was a
lifelong parishioner
of St. James Church
where he ushered for
over 40 years and
participated in
numerous
construction
projects Carl served
in the Army during
WW II and was a
member of Arlington
Heights VFW Post
#981.
His survivors
include his wife of
61 years, Vlasta nee
Filip, whom he
married July 10,
1947; his children
Carl (Joanne)
Stefanik, Thomas
Stefanik and Donald
Stefanik; his
grandchildren
Kristin and Kara
Stefanik; his
brother Stephen
Stefanik; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
Visitation from
10:30 until time of
Funeral Mass at
11:30 AM, Friday,
May 29, 2009 at St.
James Church, 831 N.
Arlington Heights
Rd., Arlington
Heights. Interment
private.
