Robert Francis Donovan
Of Prospect Heights, formerly of Rolling Meadows

Robert Francis Donovan was born November 1, 1927 in Owosso, MI to Andrew and Anne (nee Manzer) Donovan. He died May 16, 2009.

Mr. Donovan served in the Marine Corps during WW II. He was a 1952 graduate of Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI and a Vice President of the American National Bank in Chicago for 27 years. He was the President of the American Institute of Banking “AIB”, an Alderman of Prospect Heights and a member of the Elks Club and the China Marines Association. Bob was also named Citizen of the Year of Prospect Heights.

Bob is survived by his wife Jinny (nee Hungerford) whom he married February 2, 1952; his children Mark (Jeannette) Donovan and Kerry (Rick) Cummings; his grandchildren Drew (Kristen), Ross, Luke, Jake and Cortney Donovan and Charlie, Tim, Anne and Doug Cummings and by many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and his parents.

Visitation Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 6 until 9 PM and Friday May 22, 2009 from 3 until 6 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights and Saturday May 23, 2009 from 10 am until the time of service at 11 AM at St. David’s Episcopal Church 2410 Glenview Road, Glenview, IL 60025. Interment Private

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Office of Institutional Advancement, Hillsdale College, 33 E. College St., Hillsdale, MI 49242 or to St. David’s Episcopal Church.
