Robert Herman Blank
Of Arlington Heights

Robert Blank, a 52 year resident of Arlington Heights, was born on May 20, 1927 in Oak Park, Illinois to Herman and Jule Blank. He died May 6, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Blank was Manager of Station Operations, Northwest Branch, Chicago Post office where he was employed from 1945 to 1983. He was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, for 51 years, Mason for 58 years at Constellation Lodge No. 974. He was a huge sports fan, especially baseball, the Cubs being his favorite team. Robert also enjoyed Reading, music and crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia nee Kirchway; and his brother-in-law, Ross J. (Bonnie) Kirchway; and his nephews Garrett and Hugh Kirchway.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Roger H. Kirchway.

Funeral service Noon, Monday, May 11, 2009 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Lie in state at church from 11:00 AM until time of funeral service. Interment private.
