Evangeline Wanneboe Blix
Of Lake Villa, formerly of Arlington Heights

Evangeline Wanneboe “Wannie” Blix was born October 11, 1924 in New York, NY to Fritz and Sigrid (nee Olson) Nelson. She died May 4, 2009 at the VA Hospital of North Chicago.

Wannie served in the Navy during World War II. She was an active volunteer with the Northwest Community Hospital Auxiliary. Additionally Wannie proudly raised five wonderful children.

Evangeline is survived by her children Brian Blix, Bruce (Susanne) Blix, Mark Blix, Beverly Chambers and Jim (Ellen) Blix; her grandchildren Diana, Matthew, Michael, Stephen, David and Adam; her great grandchildren Syth, Sierra, Eric, K-Sha and Kanyon and by her brothers Roald (Joyce) and Richard Nelson.

She is preceded in death by her husband Oliver and by her parents.

Visitation Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 9:30 until the time of service at 11:30 AM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
