Virginia Zimmerman

Of Arlington Heights

Virginia Zimmerman, formerly of Mt. Prospect and River Forest, was born August 20, 1915 in River Forest to Charles and Anne (nee Geraci) Cusimano.   She died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Brighton Gardens in Prospect Heights.

Mrs. Zimmerman was born and raised in River Forest where she graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School.  She worked in retail sales for many years first with Andies Candies, later she was a button buyer for Marshall Fields.  Virginia was an original employee of the Mt. Prospect Goldblats Department store, working from the day they opened until the day it burned down.  She later worked at Burlington Coat Factory, retiring at age 83.

Her survivors include her daughter Marianne (Frank) Bonifacic of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, son Thomas (Rosemary) Zimmerman of Arlington Heights; her grandchildren Jennifer (Kenneth) Anderson, Elizabeth (Kevin) Beamer, Laura (Brian) Maye, Anne (Christopher) Gall, Ellen (Mike) Fowler and Bill Bonifacic; her great grandchildren Danny, Lauren, Megan and Kenny Anderson, Alexander and Tatum Beamer, Dylan Thomas Maye and John Andrew Gall.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband William, three sisters and one brother..

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights.  Prayers 9:15 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM.  Burial at Parkholm Cemetery, LaGrange Park, Ill.
