James J. Gillis

James J. Gillis was born
October 6, 1927 in New York,
New York to John Thomas and
Brigid Josephine (nee
Cronin) Gillis. He died May
6, 2008 at Lutheran General
Hospital in Park Ridge.
Mr. Gillis was the innovator
in the development of
corporate relocation
services. He was the
President of Amer-Trans
Relocation Services in
Arlington and served in the
Corporate relocation
business for over 50 years.
James Gillis is survived by
his children Mary Ellen
(James) Forde of Park Ridge,
James J. Jr. (Cynthia) of
Barrington and Karen N.
(Jeffrey) Suo of Mundelein;
his grandchildren Ashley,
Alex, Liam, Bridget, Thomas,
Elizabeth Mary and Teresa.
James is preceded in death
by his wife Mary Ellen (nee
Murray), whom he married
July 5, 1958 in Astoria, New
York; his siblings Thomas,
William and Peter and by his
parents.
