Lois C. Hansen
Of Buffalo Grove
Lois C. Hansen was born on February 25, 1919 in Chicago to Paul A. and Beulah M (nee Brown) Beese. She passed away on April 29, 2008 in Bradenton, FL.
Lois was an active member and past deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights and Christ Church in Longboat Key, FL.
Lois was a talented artist who received many awards for her oil, acrylic and pastel paintings. She was an accomplished seamstress and tailor. Lois loved handwork, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch and needlepoint. She shared her passion by making gifts for others and in her volunteer works. Her volunteer work included knitting newborn baby hats for Northwest Community Hospital, sweaters for the children of migrant workers in Florida, and prayer shawls for the ministry at First Presbyterian Church. She was active in Presbyterian Women at the three Presbyterian Churches that she was a member of throughout her life. Because of her interest in her family history, Lois was a member of the Eli Skinner Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Society of the Indiana Pioneers. She will be missed greatly by her family and her many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Warren T. Hansen, her children, Corinne L (Barrett) Peterson of Arlington Heights and Thomas W. (Carol) Hansen of Crystal Lake, her grandchildren Erik (Courtney) Peterson, Michael (Rachel) Hansen, Brian (Lisa) Peterson, Robert Hansen, Kari Peterson and David Hansen and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother Clifford P. Beese.
Visitation Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 3:00 until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights and Thursday May 8,. 2008 from 9:00 Am until the time of services at 10:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery.
