Barbara R. Kempsell
Of Arlington Heights

Barbara R. Kempsell was born January 16, 1937, to Paul and Ethel Schmitz in Chicago. She died May 15, 2007 at her home.

She and her husband were former owners of Van’s Variety in Edison Park. She was the league statistician for the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association as well as “Grandma” to the Phillies. She was a loyal and dearly loved neighbor with many friends.

Her survivors include her children Carolyn (John) Borta and George J. (Denise) Kempsell; grandchildren Cameron, Ethan, Erin, Berkeley and Colin; a sister Charlotte (Frank) Mann and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband George J. Kempsell, her brother Paul (Marge) Schmitz and her parents.

Memorial Visitation Saturday from 10am until the time of service at 1PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Children’s Center for Autism, 188 S. Northwest Hwy, Suite #203A Cary, IL 60013.
