Grant M. Berntson
Of Palatine

Grant M. Berntson was born in Chicago on September 29, 1944. He passed away on May 14, 2007 in Palatine.

Grant served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 in Viet Nam as a finance courier. He was a member of the American Legion Palatine Post 690. Mr. Berntson worked for Fidelity Federal Savings Bank for 34 years. He began as a teller and later ran the Mortgage Loan Department. At the time of his retirement he was the Sr. V.P. of Investments. Grant enjoyed fishing, genealogy and making Norwegian pancakes for his family. He was also a fan of NASCAR and the Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by his wife, Carol E. (nee Reach), his daughters, Kristen (Michael) Pryor and Sherri (Christopher) Hall, his grandchildren, Kallie Pryor and Kyle Hall, his sister, Gail (the late Valdo) Oleari, his uncle Eugene “Babe” (Florence) Johnson and many nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Lillian (nee Johnson) Berntson.

Visitation Friday, May 19, 2007 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment Memory Gardens, Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
