Burt Kingsley
Burt Kingsley, 71, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30.

Born February 2, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of Burton Edward and Genevieve Kingsley. He graduated from Breck Military Academy in 1953 and St. Olaf College in 1958. Burt was a member of the Army Reserves and was activated in 1961 during the Berlin Crisis. He worked for Hallmark Cards for 41 years, as a Sales Representative and later in Market Development. As a Market Development Specialist, he earned the J.C. Hall Award, the highest distinction among Hallmark Sales Professionals. Burt was a wonderful teammate with a terrific sense of style and humor. He was always professional, and lent a positive influence and direction to his work.

He was well respected by all those who knew him, in business and his personal life.

Burt married Ruth Meberg in August of 1962. He loved his wife completely.

Together they had two daughters: Kari (Tom) Niehaus of Leawood, Kansas, and Kirsten Kingsley (Keith Ginnodo) of Arlington Heights. He also has six grandchildren: Madeline, Charlie and David Niehaus and Nathanael, Isaac, and Asher Ginnodo. All who knew him, loved him and will miss him.

Burt was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for over 25 years. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and traveling. Burt was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Family always came first. He will be missed for his strength, determination, optimism, courage and hope. He always enjoyed today, never worrying about tomorrow. And his smile touched so many. He is the "gold standard" we all look up to.

A memorial service will be Friday June 2, 2006 11:00 am at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL. A memorial visitation will fallow from 12:00 PM to 3:00 at the church.

Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated for the church.
