Julia Von Bergen
Of Arlington Heights

Julia Von Bergen died Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights, where she has been residing in the Hearthstone for the last three years. She was born July 22, 1918 in Des Plaines to Albert and Laura (nee Moellenkamp) Kolpin. On November 29, 1941, she married Gerhard Von Bergen in Norwood Park, Illinois.

Mrs. Von Bergen was a homemaker. For many years, she worked side-by-side with her husband on their farm, growing and selling vegetables from their produce stand on Thomas Street. They enjoyed their many local customers. Julia was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for 52 years and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Her survivors include her daughters, Carol (Richard) Grimm of Glen Carbon, IL, and Shirley (Roger) Goebbert of Algonquin; her grandchildren Michael (Trudy) Grimm, Cheryl (Timothy) Schaff, Steven (Fiancée Allison Neally) Goebbert and Laura Wall; her great grandchildren Kaitlin Wall, Elizabeth and Zoe Goebbert, Emily and Hannah Schaff and Jack Grimm; her sisters-in-law Florence Von Bergen and Carroll Von Bergen, and many nieces and nephews.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 10, 2003; her brother and sister-in-law, Ervin and Helen Kolpin, and her brothers-in-law Raymond and Ralph Von Bergen.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights and Wednesday at Church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
