Paul I. Guza
Of Arlington Heights

Paul I. Guza was born October 16, 1940 in Chicago to Irving and Angela (nee Salatino) Guza. He died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Guza was employed in logistics in the transportation industry for 35 years before retiring in 2002. He attended Immaculate Conception grade school and graduated in 1958 from St. George High School in Evanston. Paul lettered in football for three years at St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated in 1962. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Paul was an avid 16" softball player who enjoyed golfing, watching all sports and working crossword puzzles. His passion was coaching and watching his sons play 16" softball, baseball, football, basketball and hockey.

Paul's survivors include his wife of 41 years, Josephine nee Piazza whom he married May 1, 1965; his sons Paul J. (Linda) Guza of Lake in the Hills, Daniel V. (Elizabeth) Guza and Timothy A. Guza both of Arlington Heights; his grandsons David Paul and Matthew Joseph and step-grandchildren Amy and Kyle; his sisters Katherine (James) Dabler and Jane Svejnoha; his nephews Laddie and Russell Svejnoha and his niece Heather Stein.

Paul is preceded in death by his daughter Angela Jo and his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 9:00 PM, Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 8:45 AM, Tuesday May 16, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell Ave. for Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
