Alyce Louise Kastantin
Of Arlington Heights
Alyce Louise Kastantin, formerly of Brockton, Mass. was born October 20,
1913 in Brockton, Mass to Matthew and Pelagia (nee Galchus) Yakavonis.
She died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at her home comforted by her family.
Mrs. Kastantin was a homemaker and an avid bridge player who
participated at the Palatine Senior Center, Rolling Meadows Senior
Center and the Arlington Heights Senior Center where she was known as
the "Barracuda. Alyce was a volunteer at the Lutheran Home and Services.
Her survivors include her children, Jules (Rosalie) Kastantin of Riva,
Maryland, Matthew (Lee) Kastantin of Easton, Maryland and Mary K.
(Peter) Connolly of Arlington Heights; her grandchildren Caroline, Megan
and Brian Connolly, Kara O'Connor, Matt Jr. and Mark Kastantin; her
great grandchildren Molly, Jay, Jack and Sean; and her niece Carole
Cudmore.
Alyce is preceded in death by her husband Julius J. Kastantin and her
daughter Kathryn.
Memorial Mass 11:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2005 at St. James Church, 831 N.
Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. The family will receive guests
at church from 10:00 AM until time of Memorial Mass.
Arrangements by the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., Arlington Heights.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to either St.
Viator High School or to Clerics of St. Viator, 1213 E. Oakton,
Arlington Heights, IL 60004 or to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410
S. Hager, Barrington, IL 60010. |
