Elita Ann Riess
Of Arlington Heights

Elita Ann Riess was born August 21, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of Alexander and Elita (nee Anspach; remarried Giesecke) Wolf. She died April 1, 2013 at Arlington Rehabilitation in Long Grove.

Elita received her bachelor’s degree in 1947, where she majored in English, from Beloit College in Beloit, WI. She was a very proud, life-long member of the Delta Delta Delta (or the Tri-Delta) Sorority. Elita studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was known for her artistic talents and creative gifts to family and friends. She showed great kindness to strangers, and had a special gift of caring about everyone she met. Elita was also an avid lover of dogs, especially dachshunds, and gave many a home of unconditional love throughout her life.

Elita is survived by her children William (Colleen) Riess and Julie (Nick de Leeuw) Riess; her grandchildren Joshua (Christina), Leslie, William and Lydia; and her nieces and nephew Ainsley, Chris, David, and Karen.

Elita is preceded in death by her husband Morton Lowrey Riess.

Visitation Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10:30 AM until time of a service of celebration and remembrance at 11:30 AM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Interment at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery will be private.
