John A. Dockus
Of Mundelein

John A. Dockus was born August 8, 1930 in Chicago to John Peter and Anna (nee Kelley) Dockus. He died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at his home following a long illness.

He bravely served as a U.S. Army Combat Paratrooper during the Korean War. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, Council 4483 in Arlington Heights, IL. He was a toolmaker at A.T. & T. and Litlefuse, and was a longtime member of IBEW.

John was the devoted husband of Marilyn (nee Breitzke) for 38 years; the caring stepfather of Joanie (Brad) Watt; the fun-loving grandpa of Katy (Marty) Shaw, Andy Watt, and Dana Watt; the loving and playful Great-papa of Isis and Kateri; a dear brother of Tom (Barb), and Edwin (Babs) Dockus; and uncle of Walter Breitzke who provided much love, support, and companionship over the past years.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 AM, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment is at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
