Bernard M. Medema

Bernard M. Medema was born March 31, 1927 in Chicago to Bernard J. and Marguerite (nee Lynch) Medema. He died on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Medema served in the Navy during WWII with the Patrol Craft Sailors Association. He was a member of the Pipefitter Union Local # 597.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, AnnMarie (nee Cerceo) Medema; his children, Donald (Jackie) Medema, Dennis (Annette) Medema, and Bernadette (James) Loiacono; his grandchildren, Tim, Chris (Jamie), Therese (Mike), Valerie, Kevin, and Mary; his great-grandchildren, Giana, Gavin, and Mia; and his sister-in-law, Pat Medema.

Bernard is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donald Medema.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment is at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, masses are appreciated.
