George J. Fischer

George J. Fischer was born February 16, 1940 in Stanley, Wisconsin to John and Mary (nee Teliczak) Fischer. He died on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Fischer was a retired computer engineer and business manager. He was a devoted Christian man and member and Bible Study Leader at St. Peter Lutheran Church. George was an avid wood carver, nature lover and outdoorsman, and a US Army instructor in Electrical Engineering.

George’s family was his life; he is survived by his wife, Janet (nee Ihde) Fischer; his children, Tim (Rosie) Fischer, and Tracey (Grant) Gustke; his grandchildren, Matthew Fischer, Alyson “Aly”, and Jackson “Jack” Gustke; and his siblings, David, Paul, and Jim Fischer.

George is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary Sell.

Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd.,(four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and from 9:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. Interment is at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
