Raymond J. Bischoffer
Of Arlington Heights

Raymond J. Bischoffer was born October 22, 1921 in Chicago to Raymond J. and Gertrude (nee Rheingruber) Bischoffer. He died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at The Claremont Rehab and Living Center in Buffalo Grove.

Mr. Bischoffer enjoyed drawing, specifically making cartoons, and during WWII he used his artistic talents to aid in the war effort. He was a loving husband and father that gave generously of his time.

He is survived by his children, Thomas (Darlene) Bischoffer of Huntley, Muriel Ann (Richard) Wilson of Ten Mile, Tennessee, Mary (Carl) Jewell of Fox Lake, and Tim Bischoffer of San Diego, California; his nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; his siblings, Sally (Eugene) Janczak, and Francis “Bud” Bischoffer; and his many nieces and nephews.

Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Muriel D. (nee Goebel) Bischoffer whom he married October 24, 1942; his parents; his grandson, Kevin Bischoffer; and his brother, Louis (Virginia) Bischoffer.

Visitation from 10:00 AM until time of Prayers at 12:15 PM, Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 1:00 PM. Interment is at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors, or the St. James Church Building Fund.
