Grace C. Coorens
Of Arlington Heights

Grace C. Coorens was born on November 19, 1923 in Chicago to Adam and Grace (nee Wold) Reuther. She died on April 3, 2011 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.

Grace loved music from a young age. She was one of the first residents of Luther Village and volunteered her time and musical talent there as well as the Lutheran Home.

Grace is survived by her children, Margaret (Michael) Henneberry of Waukegan, Robert (Dora) Lane of Houston, TX, Barbara ( Michael) Duda of Arlington Heights and Richard (Evelyn) Lane of Yorkville; her grandchildren, Rachel Henneberry, Dan (Lindsay) Henneberry, Robin (Paul) Foster, Allison ( Andy) Fox, Robert D. Lane, Rebecca Anderson, Tim Anderson, Joe Duda, Richard Lane and Ryan Lane; her great grandchildren, Luke, Alexandria and Anderson; her siblings, Pat (the late Gerry) Goldenne and Shirley (the late Dexter) Black; and many nieces and nephews..

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Coorens; and her sister, Jean (Ted) Tullin.

Visitation Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights and Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Lutheran Home & Service for the Aged, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Entombment Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Chicago, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631 or to Heartland Hospice, 220 N. Smith St. Suite 420, Palatine, IL 60067.
