Louis Legendre Pennisi
of Mt. Prospect
Louis Legendre Pennisi was born September 13, 1918 in Italy to Angelo
and Angela (nee Petrocelli) Pennisi. He died on Friday, April 23, 2010
at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Louis received his PhD from the University of Chicago. He was a math
professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1946 to1989 and
during this time he was the author of several math books. In retirement
he continued to teach math at Harper Community College.
His survivors include his beloved wife, Jane (nee Peters) Pennisi; his
loving daughters, Marilynn (David) Kulieke, Deanne (Nick) Alexander,
Peggy (Stan) Barron, and Lisa (Brian) Borrelli ; his cherished
grandchildren, Lauren, Brian, Ellen, Aris, Brian, Tony, Christine,
Louis, Mary, Jenna, Jane, Joseph, and Dominic; and his
great-granddaughter, Ariella.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Raphael and
Michael Pennisi.
Visitation is from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the
Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks
south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral service 10:30 AM,
Monday April 26, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment at
All Saints Cemetery.
