Of Palatine
Nancy L. Dallia was born on May 23, 1933 in Chicago to Arthur and Elizabeth (nee Deiters) Dallia. She died peacefully at Church Creek in Arlington Heights.
Ms. Dallia graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1951, Wittenberg College in1955 and the University of North Carolina in 1959. She taught at Central School in Mt. Prospect, Countryside School in Barrington and for 28 years at Prospect High School where she headed the Girl’s P.E. Department. She served on the Northwest Central Evaluation Committee, where she would visit other schools to evaluate them for accreditation. Nancy, in her spare time, taught water ballet and swimming to many including her sorority sister’s children. She loved teaching and coaching girl’s sports.
Nancy and her family were charter members of St. Mark Lutheran Church and she was a member for over 60 years. She was a member of the Kappa Delta White Rose Alumni, Questers, Reach for Recovery (ACS), Shelter Inc., a volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital and PEO-ER Chapter. She loved her Lord, her family, her friends and her country.
She is survived by her brother, Arthur Dallia of Brandon, WI; her nieces, Pamela Rasmussen of Oakfield, WI and Victoria (James) Villwock of Fond du Lac, WI; her great nieces and nephews, Eric (Janice) Rasmussen, Boyd Rasmussen and Gretchen Hofman; her great-great nieces and nephews, Kailee, Kamie, Kaden, Isabella, Karson and Grant and her most cherished friend Ruthann (Don) Normann .
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Dorey Dallia.
Memorial visitation Friday, April 23, 2010 from 12:30 PM until the time of memorial service at 2:00 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 S. Wille St., Mt. Prospect.
