Elmer Hamning was born March 9, 1929 in Chicago to Rudolph and Ruth (nee Hanschman) Hamning. He died on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Arlington Heights.
Elmer was a residential construction developer/consultant for 52 years retiring in 2001, and was a member of the Home Builders Association of America.
He is survived by his dear companion, Anna Frederick; his children, Thomas (Cindi) Hamning of Wilmington, Jerry (Debbie) Hamning of Downers Grove, and David (Cindy) Hamning of Terry, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Billy, Chris, Brian, Jason, Aaron, Michelle, and Tina; his six great-grandchildren; and his half-brothers, Ron and Don Hanschman.
Elmer is preceded in death by his wife Mary (nee Schaaf) Hamning; his parents; and his half-brother Rudolph Hamning.
Visitation from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:15 AM Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment is at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
