Bernadette M. Olichwier was born in Chicago on June 29, 1923 to Walter J. and Sophie (nee Chmura) Pudelek. She passed away on April 17, 2009 in Park Ridge.

She is survived by her children, John T. “Jack” (Lorii Hampton) Olichwier, Mary Ellen (Robert) Schmack, Susan (Terrence Lee) Sak-Lee, James (Lynne) Olichwier, Jerome (Donna) Olichwier and Jeffrey (Pamela) Olichwier; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Halverson, Rebecca (Christopher) Petit, Jaclyn Olichwier, Brian (Cari) Schmack, Amy (Paul) Klehr, Julie Sak, James (Sara) Sak, Kevin (Lisa) Sak, James (Teri) Olichwier, Katherine Olichwier, Peter (Katie) Olichwier, Caroline (Scott) Polifka, Jonathan (Becki) Olichwier, Heidi Olichwier and Jason Olichwier; her great-grandchildren, Catie, Ben, Molly, Christopher, Maddie, Jack, Kyle, Ella, Riley, Brady, Dylan, Braden, Tyler, Kristen, Meredith and Spencer; and her brother, Sylvester Pudelek.

She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Olichwier Sr.; her son, Peter; her sisters, Helen, Gertrude and Phyllis; and her brother, Walter Jr.

Visitation Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights. Prayers 10:45 AM Monday, April 20, 2009 at the funeral home to St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd. for Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.
