Joseph Urbanowicz, of Elk Grove Village, was born August 11, 1922, in Stanford, Connecticut, to Stanley Urbanowicz and Julia Tomienski. He died, Monday, April 13, 2009 at. Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Mr. Urbanowicz worked as a carpenter in the construction business for many years. He also served in the Army in WWII.

His survivors include his daughter Nancy (Dean) Walker of Schaumburg, his son Joseph F. (Chris) Urbanowicz, Jr. of Elk Grove Village; and his grandchildren David (Kimberly) and Daniel Walker, Nicole, Bryan and Kelly Urbanowicz.

Joseph is preceded in death by his wife Helen; his parents; his brothers and sisters.

Visitation from 3:00 until 9:00 PM , Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Height s. Prayers 10:45 AM, Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Illinois.
